Who this is for
Teachers creating a new course for the first time.
What this page answers
- How do I start a new course?
- Which fields should I fill before adding lessons?
- Should I start from an existing course or from scratch?
Prerequisites
- access to the Courses page
1. Choose how to start
Most teachers start in one of two ways:
- From Existing Course when the structure already matches what you need — browse your own courses or public courses shared by other organizations, then create an editable copy with all lessons included
- From Scratch when you want full control from the beginning
2. Fill in the course details
The core fields are:
- course name
- target language
- CEFR level
- description
Optional supporting fields can help later, such as learning objectives, prerequisites, duration estimate, and a cover image. You can upload your own cover or generate one with AI (25 tokens) — hover over the cover area and click Generate Cover. The AI uses the course name, description, CEFR level, and lesson titles to create the image.
3. Save as draft first
Create the course as a draft, then add lessons and refine the structure before publishing it to students.
