Links
Add and manage hyperlinks with auto-detection and the floating link editor.
Inserting a Link
Select text and press Ctrl + K (or Cmd + K on Mac) to open the link editor. Enter the URL and press Enter. You can also use the link button (chain icon) in the toolbar, or paste a URL onto selected text to convert it into a link.
Auto-Link Detection
The editor automatically detects URLs as you type. When you type or paste a full URL (starting with http:// or https://), it is automatically converted into a clickable link.
This also powers the auto-embed feature -- when a URL matches a supported service (YouTube, Twitter), the editor offers to convert it into a rich embed.
Floating Link Editor
Click on any existing link to reveal the floating link editor. From here you can:
- View the URL -- see where the link points
- Edit the URL -- click the edit icon to change the destination
- Open the link -- click to open in a new tab for verification
- Remove the link -- click the unlink icon to convert back to plain text
Link Behavior
- Teachers: links open in a new tab by default during editing
- Students: links open in a new tab so students are not navigated away from their lesson
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I link to another lesson in my course?
Yes. Copy the URL of the target lesson and paste it as a link. Students will be able to navigate directly.
